Robotics

What Robotics Is

The word robotics, much like computer science, has no direct equivalent in Greek. It actually comes from Czech, where it translates to "forced labor". Robotics, as you have probably heard, is an extremely interdisciplinary science, something that gets repeated on many websites ad nauseam 😉 What matters most, however, is that robotics is made up of three fields of science: automation, electrical engineering, and of course computer science. Robotics is also divided into many different branches, which we won't get into now, but what's worth remembering is that it is in fact an extremely broad science within its field.

What's on This Page

This page will feature various robotics topics I am currently exploring and that seem interesting enough to share. I am currently building a Pi Crawler robot and programming it in Python on a Raspberry Pi, so a post on this subpage will most likely appear soon. I know that, technically, since computer science is also part of robotics, I could combine these into one large subpage, but I want to give both of these great fields the respect they deserve.
